Karmit is an artist, facilitator and cultural manager whose practice revolves around the dynamic interactions between humans and the non-human world. With deep attentiveness to subtle narratives of people and land, she fabulates social practices that invite us to renew our connection to, as well as re-imagine our role as custodians of the places we dwell in.
She is member of Asociacion Amigos de la Janda, and has worked for many years, in a variety of ways, to raise awareness for the restoration of this body of water and honouring its sacred nature, currently running workshops and residencies in art-based research in and around the wetland area. She lives and works in Vejer de la Frontera, one of the towns bordering the former lagoon.
