Join our European water bodies community

We are building a strong, safe, and supportive community united by a shared vision: to recognise water ecosystems as legal, cultural, and political actors in our democracy, and to create lasting change. Our manifesto sets out this vision and the principles that guide us. Read our manifesto.

Together, we aim to connect with communities and water bodies across different regions, listen to local priorities, and learn from one another. By sharing knowledge, networks, ideas and tools, we can strengthen our collective efforts and turn shared values into meaningful action.

Would you like to flow with us?

These are the water bodies we are looking for!

  • You represent a water body in Europe: a sea, lake, river, glacier or lagoon;
  • You are actively involved in grassroots work with local activist communities;
  • You have at least one year of experience with water stewardship;
  • You have adopted a transdisciplinary approach (legal, cultural, artistic, political);
  • You are willing and happy to participate regularly in monthly online meetings and live annual events;
  • You are willing and able to share your ideas and knowledge and contribute to the development of the movement (of course we respect everyone’s capacity and we appreciate all efforts, big or small)
  • Be aware we are looking for an inclusive balanced geographical spread of the waters in Europe to have a greater impact!
