Philip Stoll

Philip Stoll (1988) is a visual artist working with the themes of attention and witnessing. Over the last 15 years he has been working with his meditative walking practice in diverse natural environments. As a way of investigating the invisible qualities of nature he worked in Europe, Russia, the north pole, North America and the deserts and plains of North and East Africa. A key question in his works is: “how can we sense, recognize and voice the potential of the beingness of places, waterbodies and cities and facilitate their future?’’ A special focus has been on the Baltic Sea since 2010, in his project WeSea. Philip is the founder of the “Regeneration-Training for holistic ecosystems and water planning” at the fakt21 Kulturgemeinschaft and active as chairman of the Modern Art Association in Support of the Museum Witten “Förderverein des Märkischen Museums Witten”.
