Stefanie Zoche, artist and initiator of Loisachbündnis, was born on the banks of the Isar. She studied fine art on the Tiber, the Têt, and the Thames, lived by the Tagus; in her artistic work, she has mostly dealt with ecological issues such as the climate crisis, resources, and extractivism (https://www.haubitz-zoche.de); in her installations and video works, she is focusing on the relation between humans and the more-than-human world. Her work has touched various times on themes related to Rights of Nature: In 2008 she realized “Yamuna Blues”, a video sculpture in public space in Delhi with her late partner Sabine Haubitz, in 2011 she exhibited “Vertigo” at Havanna Biennial, in 2025 she created “Parliament of Rivers”, a site-specific video installation on Rights of Nature, which was exhibited at Haus der Kunst in Munich. Stefanie’s surname is the name of a river near Berlin.
