Volker von Bremen, anthropologist (PhD) and co-founder of the Loisachbündnis. Born on the Lahn River and raised close to the Hahnenbach (nicknamed the ‘Köttelbecke’ or ‘Dung Ditch’) in the Ruhr region. Studied anthropology, philosophy and economics at the Lahn and at the water bodies in Berlin. Conducted research and practical cooperation with indigenous peoples, primarily in the Amazon and Paraguay/Paraná basins, as well as with local and international NGOs focusing on land and territorial rights, territoriality, cosmovisions and human rights. He has also done teaching and consultancy work on intercultural conflicts and mediation. Currently, he explores the Loisach and her life.
